The Goldline EBH servo motor is designed for hazardous locations that necessitate the use of explosion-proof motors. In environments where flammable gases, mists, or vapours may exist in explosive or ignitable concentrations, explosion-proof motors are essential. These locations are commonly found in industries such as mining, oil & gas refineries, textile mills, and industrial paint booths.

The newly certified and listed high-voltage Goldline EBH servo motor complements Kollmorgen’s wide selection of explosion-proof motors, which meet various standards, including UL, ATEX, IECEx, and CSA. The Goldline EBH servo motors are specifically designed for high-voltage applications in hazardous locations, offering speeds of up to 7,500 rpm with exceptional torque density, ensuring maximum performance with minimal installation footprint. These motors are equipped with rugged resolver feedback and a built-in thermostat to support reliable operation even in harsh environmental conditions.

The Goldline EBH servo motors, available in frame sizes 1 – 6, join other explosion-proof motors in the Goldline EB family, which are compliant with ATEX/IECEx standards, specifically CE 0081 Ex II 2 G Ex d IIB T3 Gb –40ºC ≤ Ta ≤ 40ºC. This classification makes the motors suitable for use in above-ground industries where easily ignitable gases, such as ethylene, may be present in the atmosphere for 10 to 1,000 hours per year during normal operation (Zones 1 and 2). Kollmorgen ensures the motors’ safety by applying a flameproof method of protection, containing any internal ignition within the motor housing without the possibility of escape into the external atmosphere. Moreover, the motor’s surface temperature under fault conditions is limited to 200°C.
